This gas maintenance and installation course requires no previous industry experience or related trade qualification. The
course is suitable for you if you are considering a career change, up-skilling, or have recently been made redundant and
want to get the skills needed to return to work. You will focus on developing the hand skills necessary for plumbing
installation work and progress to carrying out gas safety tests on gas appliances. Theory sessions will focus on gas safety
legislation and the underpinning knowledge required to operate safely as an engineer.
The course includes the following core units: understanding health and safety in gas utilisation, understanding scientific
principles in gas utilisation, understanding combustion and properties of gas, understanding buildings, services and
structures, and understanding gas safety.
